Samsung Wave Kite Party 2010
July 29th - August 1st
Ventspils/Latvia
Absolutely officially we can announce that kiteboardists main event this year will be held in the last weekend of July (July 29th - August 1st) in Ventspils.
The event consists of competitions in men and women's classes, seminars for beginners and positive evening's entertainment. This year is already the sixth consecutive year, expanding together with growing Latvian kiteboardist commune.
All these years Kite Party has been blessed by the wind (except once – in 2006. But it did not affected the number of participants, and fun:)) and in competition large number of Baltic kiteboardists demonstrated their skills.
Also this year is projected a large number of participants in competitions and on the beach. Not only competition but also all other event activities will take place directly on the beach – starting from seminars up to Saturday’s final party - Samsung Wave Beach Party, which are expected special guests this year.
TOURNAMENT:
• Freestyle
• Marathon
• Wave riding
• Kiteloop
Tournament will take place between men and women compete. Event’s name Burusports Kite boarding Cup is organized in collaboration with Burusports team. More info in this websites section “Matches”.
BEACH:
• Beach bar
• Yoga for kiteboardists
• DJ music, positive atmosphere
• If airless - relays at the beach, etc.
PARTY:
• Unforgettable Friday’s Chill out evening, this year - Radio 101 Sun Set Chill Out with special guest DJ Švāns.
• Closing Samsung Wave Beach Party on Saturday evening, winners awards ceremony and dances till sunrise.

1. SEMINAR:
Also, in the frame of Samsung Wave Kite Party 2010 within two days – 29th and 30th of July - in Ventspils will be held kiteboardists seminar for Beginners.
Join and start kite boarding! It is an opportunity to everyone to get an idea about what is kite board, learn the basics of this sport, safety rules, equipment and start to learn how to kite board.
The seminar consists of practical and theoretical lessons.
Place: Ventspils, Seaside Camping’s seminar hall and surf beach.
Program:
July 29th, Thursday
11:00 Registration, acquaintance
11:30 to 13:00 Theoretical lesson:
* what is kite board? (Development, story)
* Kite board Security (rules, the remaining on land, your partner, helmets, protective vest)
* Kite board equipment (kites, bars, boards, rider equipment, your right choice)
* Wind direction, wind range, movement direction, etc.
13:00 to 13:45 Lunch break
14:00 to 18:00 Exercises on the beach:
* Training on kite controlling
* Preparation of equipment, assembly
* Kite running, lifting, lowering
(18:00 to 20:00 the opportunity to receive individual consultations / lessons from instructors for additional fee)
21:00 chill by the fire, water pipe, kite video and photo viewing
July 30th, Friday
9:30 to 10:30 Repetition of theory
10:30 to 14:00 Exercises on the beach:
* Kite assembly
* Lifting
* Controlling
* Kite raising from the water
* Kite controlling on water (body dragging)
* Start of ride
Register in kiteparty.lv till 26th of July
Fee for seminar: 60 LVL / person (the price includes theoretical and practical lessons, kite board equipment, lunch, snack kit)
Instructors: Individual lessons: 15 LVL / h per 1 person or 20 LVL / h for 2 persons
Places: 12
NB! In a case of lack of wind strength, a part of practice sessions will be replaced with a SUP (stand up paddle board) and the Seaside Aqua Park Ventspils visit.
2. 101 SUN SET RADIO CHILL OUT
The famous Friday’s evening Chill Out with its special atmosphere has remained as bright events for its participants. Maybe some Latvian kiteboardist had a hard time in next day’s race, but it was worth it. Friday night is a meeting and seeing again party in sunset mood, which takes place Friday evening after startup, and before Saturday’s decisive matches.
This year Radio 101 DJ Edvards Švāns will take care about positive atmosphere. Start at 21:00 o’clock at the beach.
3. COMPETITION

Registration for the tournament in kiteparty.lv till July 28th
Entry fee:
Registering until the 28th of July 20,00 LVL (~30EUR)
Registering on 30th and 31st of July on the events place 25,00 LVL (~37EUR)
Entry fee includes: participation in competitions, Samsung Wave Kite Party T-shirt, lunch pack, entrance to the Radio 101 Sun Set Chill Out on Friday night and the final party Samsung Wave Beach party on Saturday.

For match and seminar participants entrance is free of charge.
